Northshore inline half marathon

September 19, 2026

Now a WIC series event

World Inline Cup is the premier international circuit for inline marathon racing, uniting the world’s top events under one global series. The WIC brings together elite and professional skaters from across Europe, North America, South America, and beyond, creating a competitive calendar that spans multiple countries and continents each season.  The World Inline Cup serves as the sport’s global benchmark and a meeting point for the very best in long distance inline skating.

The NorthShore Inline Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota, is one of the most iconic inline skating events in the world and offers an unforgettable point to point experience for skaters of all backgrounds. Scheduled for September 19, 2026, the 13.1 mile half marathon begins from the marathon’s halfway point to the finish. It follows the scenic North Shore of Lake Superior, giving participants sweeping lake views and fresh northern air. Skate through Duluth’s Lakeside neighborhood and onto the I-35 Interstate Highway to the finish alongside the famous William A. Irvin freighter as fans cheer you on. This is a perfect race for less experienced skaters and allows for a great taste of what our full marathon has to offer. Our half marathon skate is open to all skill levels.

The NorthShore Inline Marathon is known for its friendly atmosphere, strong community support, and dedication to participant safety. It welcomes skaters of all skill levels, from first timers to elite athletes, and remains North America’s largest and most celebrated inline marathon for good reason.

PAST RACER REMARKS

It is the best race for families. My three kids and I have been doing this race for years and we love the community. Everyone is so happy and welcoming, and we could not ask for a better location. The atmosphere is upbeat from start to finish and there is always something fun happening. It has become a tradition we look forward to every year and a chance for all of us to enjoy the day together.
