Mike Lufholm Combined 39.3

September 19, 2026

Do you have what it takes to skate 39.3 miles in one morning? For the Combined 39.3 Miles, skaters race the half marathon, hop on the bus for a short rest, and then race the full marathon to compete for the fastest combined time.

This race is not for the faint of heart and is one of the most challenging races we offer. Racers must do the inline half marathon in less than an hour to make the 7:55 bus cut off to get to the second leg of the race to then do the full marathon. On average 30+ racers complete this challenging task! Are you up for it?

About our friend Mike:

Mike loved this community as much as the miles he put on his wheels, and he believed wholeheartedly in what the NorthShore Inline Marathon represents for skaters from near and far. He was a steady, familiar presence who welcomed newcomers, encouraged fellow racers, and shared stories that reminded us why we return to the shoreline each year. His passion for growing inline skating was genuine and quiet, shown through simple conversations, kind words, and a true sense of belonging. Mike helped make this event feel less like a race and more like a gathering of friends, and his spirit will remain part of our community every time we roll forward together.

Such a phenomenal organization to bring all enthusiasts out from all corners of minnesota and beyond! I love supporting NSIM and will continue to be a part of it’s skating team for as long as I am able bodied.
