The MN Department of Transportation has just begun on a repaving project on the Scenic Highway 61, set to be completed September 8. The section of road from McQuade Road south to Brighton Beach, five miles of the oldest pavement on the course, will be freshly repaved for the 22nd Annual NorthShore Inline Marathon!
The entire NSIM course has been redone within the last five years, and with the recent news of repaving, we think it will be one of the best course conditions yet.
In years past, this section of pavement has been full of tar snakes, bumpy and somewhat dangerous late into the race. Therefore, we are incredibly happy to hear about this section being repaved, which will connect the newer northern pavement to the fresh I-35 freeway asphalt.
