The Expo will be held in conjunction with packet pickup. Representatives from the skate and fitness industry will be there to exhibit, answer questions, and sell the latest in products and services. The event is free and the public is welcome.

The Expo is on Friday, September 14th from noon until 9:00 pm and on Saturday, September 15th from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm.

Race Expo Schedule – FRIDAY, SEPT. 14. NOON-9PM

Noon to 9 p.m. – Packet pickup and expo at DECC Pioneer Hall
2 & 6 p.m. – Sk8 Farm Skating Clinic with Eddy Matzger (outside in parking lot)
3:30 & 7 p.m. – Rollerblade Skating Demonstration – (inside Expo area)
3 – 9 p.m. – All-you-can-eat pasta buffet at The Sports Garden
4 p.m. – Free registration starts for kids’ sprints (for ages 14 & under)
4 p.m. – Inline Slalom Demo with NYC’s Sonic
5 p.m. – Kid’s Sprints on Harbor Drive on the east side of the DECC
7:30 p.m. – Harbor City Roller Dames Roller Derby Bout

2 & 6 p.m.

An annual classic! Meet inline legend Eddy Matzger and get some great tips on how to maximize your inline speed skating performance.

Eddy runs the sought-after Sk8 Farm instructional camp in Virginia, USA and Thailand, and has skated the NSIM every year for decades! Get more info here:

The hour-long interactive demos are free to attend and held at 2 and 6pm. Bring your skates and learn from the best!

4 p.m.

Arnav “Sonic” Shah is a professional inline skater from New York City. Although he is racing the Elite Inline Marathon Saturday, his specialty is slalom skating. Slalom, a.k.a. freestyle or cone skating, is a mesmerizing skating discipline where ones moves through a line of small cones with style and grace. See his moves at:

The ~45 minute demo and 4pm will include a short demo of Sonic’s freestyle skills and then an introductory workshop.

Bring your skates, as participation is greatly encouraged!! Try skating the cones!

3:30 & 7 p.m.

Join Kacie Cleveland, Rollerblade® Ambassador, for a nice dynamic warmup to help loosen up tight muscles from travel and warm everything up for the big race the next day!

Kacie is racing the Combined event on Saturday and recently completed the Seattle to Portland 206 bike race on inline skates!

Join at 3pm and 7pm for the group workout:

  • athletes can wear athletic shoes
  • light warmup will last around 20 minutes
  • some examples of the drills are: high knees, froggies, walking toe touch, single leg swings, arm swings, lunge combinations to open up hips and raise heart rate, and karaoke drills

4 p.m. registration, 5 p.m. race

All kids can register with their parents at the race site.

5 and under: 50 meters
6-7: 75 meters
8-9: 100 meters
10-11: 150 meters
12-14: 200 meters

Medals are given to 1-2-3 girls and boys in each age group.

Roller Derby Bout

We want to showcase all sorts of roller sports, and the fastest growing sport in the world right now is Roller Derby.

Come check out local derby team Harbor City Roller Dames as they face off for a “mixer” bout at the expo Friday at 7:30pm!
