Harbor City Roller Dames and NSIM Unite

The Harbor City Roller Dames have teamed up with the NorthShore Inline Marathon to support each other and grow the sport of skating. Inline skaters and quad skaters can be friends!

The Harbor City Roller Dames are a women’s flat track roller derby league from Duluth/Superior, founded in 2007. HCRD provides an opportunity for all age 19+ women (including transgender women, intersex women, and gender expansive skaters) to learn and play the sport of flat track roller derby. They travel around the state and region playing other teams in WFTDA-sanctioned bouts. The WFTDA stands for Women’s Flat Track Derby Association, the governing body for women’s roller derby.

The NorthShore Inline Marathon is open to quad and roller skates, and many roller derby fanatics have skated the marathon and half marathon for a unique challenge. New in 2017, the NorthShore Inline Marathon offered an awards category for the fastest quad skater. Last year, Anissa Beattie of Little Chute, WI won the women’s division of fastest quad skater with a time of 2:02:47 for the full marathon. She was the overall fastest quad skater as well. The fastest men’s quad skater was Thomas Frisby of Gladstone, MO with a time of 2:07:14.

The NorthShore Inline Marathon looks forward to help support roller derby in our community, throughout Duluth, Minnesota, and beyond.
