As a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit organization, the NorthShore Inline Marathon strives to give back to our community that supports us each year. Our official charity partner is the Northern Lights Foundation, and we are thankful to partner with them in 2017!
The Northern Lights Foundation focuses on helping families who are dealing with their children’s life-threatening illnesses. Dr. Ken Larson founded the charity in Duluth, Minnesota, after the loss of his infant daughter, and the Northern Lights Foundation has provided financial support to over 160 families.
Each year, they put on several fundraising events, like the popular More Cowbell in January, an Annual Dinner/Silent Auction in May, and the new Guns and Hoses baseball event pitting the Duluth Police Department against the Fire Department at Wade Stadium in Duluth.
For more information on the Northern Lights Foundation, and to make a charitable donation, visit their website at www.northernlightsfoundation.org. Also, we include a donation option on the NorthShore Inline Marathon online registration page.
